Comfy room layout with nice wooden features creates a cozy atmosphere. The location near a lake offers picturesque views and a relaxing environment for walks.
My room had an unfortunate smell from the mill water when the window was opened. Thin walls made it hard to ignore the noise from the bar and other guests, which disrupted my sleep. The lack of a fan or air conditioning during the heatwave added to the discomfort. A few maintenance issues like a leaking bathroom and a troublesome key for the main door didn't help matters either. I expected a bit more given the character of the place.

Had a great time with friends here! We enjoyed walking in Ashdown Forest and visiting Hever Castle, then spent our evenings chilling in the lovely outdoor area by the lake. Perfect for unwinding after the day. Just a heads up, the pub can get busy, so plan ahead with your meals.

The beautiful view of the lake from our Comfy Room was absolutely amazing! 🌅 The only downside was the faint odor in the bathroom. It kind of took away from the otherwise lovely stay!

The seasoned fries at the pub were to die for, and the clean, comfy rooms with ensuites made us feel right at home. Plus, the location by the lake? Pure bliss!
A bit noisy from above and the bathroom's frosted glass doors missed the mark. Parking access was a trek for those with mobility issues.
